Tom Huddlestone’s injury hell is set to continue until the end of the season as he prepares for a second operation on his ankle on Friday.

The 25-year-old has been out of action since August and, having initially gone under the knife at the end of 2011, now looks unlikely to reappear before the summer.
Huddlestone had resumed jogging and was named in Spurs’ 25-man squad earlier this month – but he has continued to experience some pain, necessitating another operation, which was always likely to be part of his schedule.
A club statement read: “The midfielder has progressed well since his initial surgery, with the specialist determining that the anticipated reconstruction of a lateral ankle ligament is the next step towards the England international making a return to full fitness.”
