The Islington Boat Club in Graham Street, Islington, is a registered charity set up to provide water-based activities for young people, as well as certified training in different activities. Founded in 1970 by Chrystal Hale, the club is now coordinated by Paul Anderson, who described said Saturday’s event was a fine example of ”young people learning through having fun whatever the weather”.

The boat club offers all young people aged nine to 19 years old the opportunity to develop skills whilst enjoying kayaking, power boating, narrow boating and sailing. Land based activities such as mountain biking, self defence, gardening, first aid, art and crafts are also offered.
