The MP for Hornsey and Wood Green met with the leader of the campaign I Love Wood Green to highlight the need to boost business and cleanliness in the High Road.

More than 80 people are now backing Tamara Palmer’s campaign - first revealed in the Journal in June - with plans already underway for a food recycling cafe inside Wood Green Library and a guerrilla garden outside.

The group also hopes to set up pop-up shops in the area for local produce and artwork.

Ms Featherstone said: “Tammy is doing a great job setting up this community alliance.

“She is talented and hungry to make a difference, and an excellent example of why I love community activism.”

She added that she will help by advising the group on ways to improve the area and offering her help and contacts.

Miss Palmer said the project is “about bringing the community together and us all feeling very proud of where we live”.
