A passer-by called paramedics after finding the casualty, an 18-year-old man, lying in bushes in the nature trail near the entrance off Crouch End Hill, Crouch End, behind The Crescent Café, at about 7.40am on Tuesday (Aug 16).

Ambulance staff called police, who sealed off the scene while the man was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Detectives are looking into how the man came to have his injuries, and whether he may have received them elsewhere.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Louise Roberts of Haringey CID on 020 8345 0832 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
