Ali Armagan, 32, a Turkish national from Hackney, died from a gunshot wound to the neck after being shot in broad daylight last Wednesday,

Police believe Mr Armagan was sat in a black Audi behind the station in Langham Road when two men approached from behind at about 3.30pm, firing six to eight bullets from a handgun before fleeing towards Graham Road on foot.

After the shooting, witnesses told the Journal Mr Armagan got out of the car and stumbled across the road, collapsing outside Vunit hair salon in Langham Parade.

He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by an air ambulance doctor - a post mortem at Haringey Mortuary last Friday gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the neck.

Police have not commented on rumours Mr Armagan was a senior member of a Turkish drugs gang and was killed as part of an assassination by rival gang members.

No arrests have been made so far but the Met have deployed extra officers to patrol streets in Haringey, Hackney, Islington and Enfield, all boroughs which have significant Turkish and Kurdish communities.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8733 4211 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
