THE former Royal British Legion base in Crouch End could be snapped up soon by a mystery buyer.

The Earl Haig Memorial Hall, in Elder Avenue, is under offer for an estimated £750,000 - but Strettons, the estate agents handling the sale, remain tight-lipped about who could be taking over the almost 9,000 sq ft site.
The building is licensed and limited to use as a social club. Any new owners would have to apply for planning permission if they wanted to convert it into anything other than a venue for public entertainment, such as for housing.
The Crouch End branch of the Royal British Legion was forced to shut down and move out of the building in August last year, after dwindling membership and a lack of public support meant its committee was unable to keep up with the bills.
The club had been active in the area for more than 90 years and the hall was regularly used for bingo evenings and community meetings.
Details have been released this evening of how to get your share of 4,000 tickets to the exclusive Olympic Torch Relay evening celebration at Alexandra Palace in July.
