Alexandra Palace has been immortalised as a pin badge to commemorate the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

The enamel badge is Haringey's entry for the Landmark London series, which features a badge for each of London's boroughs, and goes on sale later this month. Fans voted for their favourite icon to feature on the pin.

The first one off the production line was presented to Councillor Claire Kober, leader of Haringey Council, last week.

She said: "Alexandra Palace is the iconic landmark in the borough, so it was no surprise that it got the most votes to represent Haringey on the Olympic badges.

"I'm sure that, like me, residents will be looking forward to the Games coming to London."

Sebastian Coe, the man behind London's 2012 Olympics bid, said: "I am delighted to see how proud people are of their city and specific borough. I hope they will wear their pin badges with pride."

It will be available from Runner's Need, Crest of London, World Duty Free and the Museum of London.
