Hornsey Town Hall plans submitted
A PLANNING application to transform Hornsey Town Hall into a cultural hub has been received by Haringey Council today (Friday).
The designs outline a vision to restore the Grade II* listed building in the heart of Crouch End, with proposals including a theatre space, public halls, bars, an improved courtyard and new housing.
Councillor Claire Kober, leader of Haringey Council, said: "Hornsey Town Hall is a much-loved local landmark and has the potential to be at the heart of plans to improve Crouch End and broaden Haringey's cultural landscape.
"We will be closely scrutinising the plans to make sure they are able to deliver real change for the better, not just for Crouch End, but for the whole of Haringey. We encourage everyone to take a close look at the plans and to have their say on proposals.
"All comments will be carefully considered by the planning committee when it makes a decision on the application."
The plans are expected to be publicly available by the middle of next week, once planning officers have checked all the necessary boxes have been ticked.
A public meeting on the plans is pencilled in for Thursday, March 25, at the town hall itself in The Broadway, Crouch End.
After that, plans will be on display in an exhibition around the corner in Hornsey Library, Haringey Park.
The decision on the planning application will be taken by councillors at a planning committee on a date to be confirmed.
